Here is an email I received recently concerning one of the backordered supplements from Thorne Research. After reading the PDF file below it should be clear why I have chosen to use supplements from only those companies whose highest priority is quality. The link to the PDF file is below.

Thorne Research has been fortunate over the years to have minimal backorder problems in comparison to many of our competitors. Being a manufacturer truly does eliminate most of the problems experienced by companies that have contract manufacturers make their products.
However, Thorne Research has had a prolonged backorder situation with Bio-GestR, B.P.P., and Betaine HCl & Pepsin due to the worldwide lack of a high-quality Betaine HCl supply. The attached letter contains an in-depth explanation of the seriousness of the situation and why we have been unable to fill your current orders. Because we are committed to the quality of our products and the safety of your patients, we cannot compromise our position until the Betaine HCl supply situation is remedied, hopefully in the near future.
We do still have available our two other digestive aid products, Dipan-9 (pure pancreatin) and Plantizyme (vegetarian-source enzymes).
