Shockwave Therapy
Session time: 10-15 minutes
Shockwave therapy is an advanced, non-invasive modality we use in the clinic to help “restart” healing in connective tissues that have become chronically irritated or dysfunctional. By delivering focused acoustic energy into the area of tendon or soft-tissue irritation, shockwave encourages improved circulation, neuromuscular signaling, and tissue remodeling. Patients commonly report a reduction in pain intensity, improved mobility, and a quicker return to functional activities.

We most often use shockwave therapy for conditions that have resisted more basic care alone—especially chronic tendon irritations and trigger areas where the nervous system has developed a persistent protective pattern. In our experience, combining the mechanical effects of shockwave with neurologic assessment and adjustment provides an outcome that is often greater than any single treatment by itself.

Conditions commonly treated with shockwave:
  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
  • Achilles and patellar tendinopathy
  • Lateral and medial epicondylitis (tennis/golfer’s elbow)
  • Rotator cuff and shoulder tendon irritations
  • Hip/gluteal tendon irritation
  • Persistent myofascial tightness and trigger point pain

Cold Laser Therapy
Session time: 10 to 15 minutes
Cold laser therapy (also called low-level light therapy) uses specific wavelengths of light to support cellular energy production and calm localized inflammation without generating heat. The result is a gentle, soothing effect that can help down-regulate inflammatory signaling and improve tissue metabolism. Many patients describe the sensation as calming, with rapid softening of irritation and reduced post-treatment soreness.

Because it works at the level of cellular signaling, cold laser is a strong complement to hands-on care. Applying laser therapy before or after chiropractic correction or neuromuscular work often reduces protective tension patterns and allows the adjustments, exercises, or nutritional changes to integrate more smoothly.

Common conditions treated with cold laser:
  • Neck and low back pain (acute and chronic)
  • Joint inflammation (knee, shoulder, wrist)
  • Tendon and ligament sprains/strains
  • Bursitis and swelling
  • Nerve irritation symptoms (e.g., mild radiating discomfort)
  • Post-exercise or overuse recovery

Electroacupuncture
Session time: 20 to 40 minutes
Electroacupuncture enhances traditional acupuncture by delivering a mild, therapeutic electrical current between needles at strategic points. This approach amplifies the nervous system’s regulatory signals and helps shift protective tension and pain pathways more efficiently than needle placement alone. In our clinic, electroacupuncture is often used not only for local symptom relief, but also to calm systemic stress patterns that underlie many chronic conditions.

Unlike standard needling, electroacupuncture provides a measurable neurologic stimulus that can soften guarded muscle tone, improve circulation, and help reset persistent nervous system sensitization. Paired with chiropractic adjustments and functional nutritional support, it becomes a key component in calming stress-driven patterns and facilitating true recovery.

Conditions commonly treated with electroacupuncture:
  • Chronic muscular tension and spasm
  • Low back, neck, and shoulder pain
  • Headache and tension patterns
  • Radiating nerve discomfort and tingling
  • Stress-related muscle guarding
  • Sleep disruption related to nervous system tension

Integrative and Layered Care for Lasting Results
At are clinic we don’t view therapies in isolation. As with the diagnostic and care approaches described throughout the site—such as Applied Kinesiology for functional assessment and chiropractic care for structural correction—these modalities become far more effective when combined thoughtfully with a patient’s current nutritional and therapeutic plan.

Using shockwave, cold laser, and electroacupuncture in the context of nutritional support and chiropractic correction allows us to address the biochemical, structural, and neurologic components of chronic irritation simultaneously. This layered therapy approach:
  • Promotes nervous system calming
  • Helps desensitize chronic protective patterns
  • Integrates with allergy and immune regulation strategies
  • Supports deeper, more sustainable healing than single-modality care alone

Together, these tools form part of a coordinated recovery plan—supporting movement, metabolism, and meaningful symptom reduction while aligning with the rest of your personalized care goals here.
