Dr. Monk received his doctorate in chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. Although interested in health and health related therapies, Dr. Monk did not pursue his degree in chiropractic until near the end of his undergraduate training at the University of Florida. In 1991, after experiencing heart beat irregularities for several months, he was treated by a chiropractor, specializing in Applied Kinesiology (AK). In the span of about ten minutes, through standard AK testing procedures, it was discovered that a deficiency in potassium was present. After taking a supplement for a total of one month, the palpitations stopped completely and never returned. *Applied Kinesiology (AK) AK is a comprehensive diagnostic tool that analyzes the human body primarily through the neurological responses of muscles. It was originally developed in the early 1960’s and is currently utilized by many types of physicians: medical doctors, chiropractors, dentists, osteopaths, psychiatrists, and psychologists. *Functional Bio-Analysis (FBA) FBA is a rapid, in-depth whole-person diagnostic approach developed by Dr. Monk. FBA utilizes the muscle testing of Applied Kinesiology, the energetic reflex points of the acupuncture system, and the hierarchy of the nervous system to evaluate and correct functional disruptions of body chemistry. |
